President - Jeff Hering
Jeff was born in Southern Oregon and grew up in Scappoose Oregon where he graduated high school and entered the US Air Force. After serving his country for over 4 years, he started his civilian law enforcement career in Scappoose in 1989. Jeff worked in patrol and was a school resource officer teaching DARE/GREAT to all Scappoose schools. Jeff later was assigned to the Columbia Enforcement Narcotics team. Jeff was hired in 1998 by the Tigard Police Department and after 4 years in patrol has been a narcotics detective since 2002. Jeff holds an associate degree in Criminal Justice and is the President of the Oregon Narcotics Enforcement Association. He enjoys spending time with his family, riding UTV’s and riding his Harley Davidson.
Vice President - Mike Ranum
Mike was born and raised in the Portland Metropolitan area. He started his law enforcement career in 1989 with the Tigard Police Department. Through his career he has worked in patrol, spent 9 years working narcotics investigations on state and federal narcotics task forces, transit division and been assigned to the Washington County Tactical negotiations (SWAT) team or over 16 years. Mike has also been a TPOA (Tigard Police Officers Association) executive board member for over 15 years.
Secretary - Sue Garino
I moved to Oregon in 1994 from Northern California. After decades in the private sector I took a position as a 911 dispatcher in Clark County Washington in 2007. In 2008 I transitioned to a Police Records Specialist with Tigard Police Department. March of 2011, I moved to Property and Evidence Specialist. As of May 2016 I began my current position of Community Service Officer. After periods of being the Non-Sworn Member at Large, I am proud to represent as Secretary of TPOA.
Treasurer - Nick Nunn
Nick moved to the Portland Metro Area as a young child and was raised in the area until after high school when he moved to Idaho to attend college. After returning from college he worked in retail before beginning his career in law enforcement as a Reserve Officer with another Washington County agency. He began his full time law enforcement career as a Correction Deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for six years before joining the Tigard Police Department in 2006. Since joining the Tigard Police Department Nick has worked as a field training officer, a motor officer in the traffic division and as a school resource officer.
Sgt. at Arms - Andy Pastore
I was raised in the Olympia, Washington area and moved to the Portland area for college in 1995. After college, I worked in the insurance industry before beginning law enforcement work as a reserve with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office in 2000. I was hired by the Tigard Police Department in 2002 and have worked as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Detective, and Instructor. Go Huskies!
