Each city council member receives a vehicle allowance, cell phone stipend, city-provided iPad or tablet, access to medical/dental coverage and a $10,000 travel/training allowance. The Mayor receives an annual stipend of $51,650 (to make up for time spent away from their job to meet city and regional committee obligations) and each councilor receives an annual stipend of $6,778. There are 3-4 city council meetings a month and the mayor and council are also liaisons to the city and regional boards and committees.
